seek him…

We hear this statement so much in church and from our friends, but what does it truly mean to seek him…  The bible uses the word seek around 244 times!!!

The word seek means: attempt or desire to obtain- So when I hear the scripture;

2 chronicles 7:14-15 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek ( desire to obtain) my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.

This means so much more to me than ever before- It makes me stop and think- Am I really desiring to obtain His face? Am I pushing myself to be intimate with Jesus?   Intimacy means closely acquainted- familiar.   So what I hear God saying to me is- I need to desire to obtain his face and turn from all other things that are not related to HIm!  Wow! This makes me see how important it is for me and my personal time with the Lord. When we decide each day to seek him we should be going into our times with God to find him, not just pray to him… Decide today that when you go to seek Him- that you will see Him and obtain His face- and in obtaining Him you will start to see HIs heart and do the very things he has called you to do!
